“I never felt normal, ever. Lmao that’s why I have a weird fascination with aliens and shit. I also believe everyone should go through life as if you are an alien. Be open and willing to learn about everything life has to offer....” -Martian Marie
Alex Johnson, born in Coral Springs, Florida. Raised by her mother, visiting her father every weekend in South Florida between Lauderhill and lake worth. As far back as she can remember Alex was writing and drawing anything artistic. Although she faced being bullied for her artistic talents at a young age, she found peace and comfort in her room, where her creative freedom lived.
“ Whenever I had a bad day I’d go into my room and pretend to be Biggie Smalls, and Missy Elliot etc. the really confident artists. That’s really when I realized I want to do music. Having the power to move people with words. To change someone’s mood, thought process with words music was healing.”
After realizing the strength of her talent and words, Alex wrote her Principle a letter saying she would prove all the bullies wrong. Stating how it’s wrong to dislike someone because they’re different. The same day Alex was called to the office, thinking she was in big trouble. What awaited her was the Principle and her mother, both in tears from shock, “you wrote this?” Blown away at how well written and deep the message was, that next Friday she got to read her letter to the whole school! “I remember reading it aloud thinking in my mind “yeaaa bitches, who on top now!” By the end of it, all the teachers were crying in sadness but really in shock at how talented Alex was at such a young age(4th grade). This resulted in Alex gaining the respect of her peers and former bullies, also winning the talent show that year! Alex credits her dad for her musical talents. He embedded it in her from day one and often. All types of music from Beres to Slick Rick, always showing her new music from different genres.
Alex moved to Georgia in the 8th grade and had an awful taste in her mouth about it. This heightened her writing, as this was her escape. In the 11th grade was her first time performing. It was in her forensics class! From there on Alex found it necessary to continue to write and tell her story as she grows in her talents and experiences life…

REEF MUNY
Throughout his life, Leroy Juavelle Whitner, developed an early love for music. Coming up in the Clemson, South Carolina, area, family and sports were a central theme in life. Although Whitner grew up to be a strong athlete, he often turned to music to satisfy his more introverted side.
After moving to Georgia, he joined some of his closest friends, LT and J-Bo in the group TMF, TrueMuny Fam. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that this arbitrary crush on music blossomed into a full on musical infatuation.
TMF gained more momentum after making international appearances on a popular Korean K-Pop Web Series, "Swaggers Made in USA," and continued to build their brand through various modes of writing, production, and artistry. Being in an environment where everyone was not only “doing” music, but also taking it seriously, cultivated the artist we now know as Reef Muny.
Reef has been featured in the ABRA video “Diamonds and Gold,” and has released his own videos such as “Rollin 8ths.” Overall, Reef Muny accumulated most of his musical streams and current international fan base through SoundCloud. His first released project was titled, “My Dirty Timbs,” and is still available on Audio Mack. Current singles are still available on SoundCloud, Spotify, and iTunes.
This elusive yet distinctive artist will certainly be one to watch in 2019.
